Abstract
I'd say you must be truly loved who are given such a command - so love him back with all you've got. Have you got a voice? If so then love him with all of that too.
"And I know that his commandment is life everlasting, whatever I speak, therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak." - Jesus Christ, the Son of God, 1st Century AD.
In communication this may involve interpretation: "... except you utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken" - the Apostle Paul, 1st Century AD.
You don't believe? Then believe. He commands it.
To love him is to keep and obey his commands.
You don't know him? Then obey his commands and you will. He promises it.
"And this is his command, That we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another as he commanded us" - the Apostle John, 1st Century AD
As Jesus, the Christ promised, "Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free"
To testify to the truth was the reason that he came.
